There's a new word in the Russian language: могилизейшен. It's a combo of two words: могила (grave) and mobilisation; in English, it could sound like gravilization or mobilization into the grave.

It's a bitter and sarcastic nickname for Putin's mobilisation policy to call up 300,000 Russian men for a senseless, suicidal war in Ukraine. Those eligible to be mobilised have just two options: either become cannon fodder in Ukraine or run away to save their lives.

On the other hand, the Russian intelligentsia is leaving the country in mass. This new wave of Russian escapees we can compare to so-called "philosophical" emigration in 1920, just after the revolution, when thousands of Russian intellectuals - writers, philosophers, and scientists - were put on the ship and thrown away from USSR
